Occurrence and health risk assessment of PFAS and possible precursors: a case study in a drinking water treatment plant and bottled water (south Catalonia, Spain)

Quoted values stay tied to the cited study. Empty sections are gaps.

Summary

Key numbers

Source-reported values checked against the cited page of the filed PDF. Values are reported as printed, without conversion. These are selected records, not an exhaustive transcription.

Evidence Fitness

Bounded transcription of selected occurrence statistics, not a complete numeric extraction of the paper. Other matrices, risk calculations, regulatory limits and literature comparisons are excluded.

Methods (brief)

Off-line SPE HPLC-MS/MS with isotopically labelled surrogates and a separate total oxidizable precursor assay, PDF pp. 3-5. Targeted concentrations are not total organic fluorine.

Target labels as printed: PFBA; PFBS; PFDA; PFDoA; PFDoS; PFDS; PFHpA; PFHpS; PFHxA; PFHxS; PFNA; PFNS; PFOA; PFOS; PFOSA; PFPeA; PFPS; PFTrA; PFTrS; PFUnDA; PFUnS; 4:2 FTS; 6:2 FTS; 8:2 FTS; N-EtFOSAA; N-MetFOSAA (Table 3, PDF p. 8).

Detection and quantification limits: Table 3, PDF p. 8: LOD 0.1 ng/L for PFOA, PFNA, PFDA and PFDoA; 0.8 ng/L for PFNS and PFDS. LOQ is the lowest calibration point: 0.25 ng/L for the former group and 2.5 ng/L for the latter. PDF p. 7 reports overall LOQ range 0.25-5 ng/L. PDF p. 11 reports no target precursors detected in bottled water; no zero substituted.

Limitations

Abstract p. 1 reports up to 12 ng/L total whereas body p. 10 reports 8 ng/L; both retained in the mismatch log, no reconciliation. The below-LOQ group is ambiguously described as seven compounds but only six names are printed. Sample-level table is not supplied. No tap-water results routed in this branch.

Provenance notes

DOI and citation metadata checked against the deposited PDF title page; no online resolution attempted. MANIFEST identity matched. PDF copied without modification; raw_path and sha256 retain local provenance. All printed values and censoring retained without conversion or conflict repair. See reports/bottled-drinking-water/MISMATCHES.csv.
